Classic Speedway Sidecar Rules.
Proposed Rules, These are being used by the SSRAV for their days at Broadford.

Rules & Regulations for Classic Speedway Sidecars.
a) Engines to comply with periods 1 to 4 for historic road racing with original manufacture being no later than 31st December 1972 as per rules 13.8.2.1, 13.8.2.2, 13.8.2.3;
b) Frames to be based on standard motorcycle frame having adjustable lean and with a sidecar that is separate from the frame and fixed with a minimum of four (4) bolts;
c) Passengers MUST start with both feet in the sidecar;
d) Block pattern tyres only to be used, size optional;
e) Maximum rim widths to be 2.5 inches for the front and back, and 2.15 inches for the sidecar, rim sizes optional, NO mag wheels allowed;
f) No flat slide, smooth bore, Amal MkII, powerjet carbies or fuel injection allowed;
g) No leading link front forks allowed;
h) Rear wheel to be enclosed as per the old regulations (i.e. 45 degrees from back axle)
i) No wings or full nose cones allowed, only Bikini type or small fairings, similar to "Terry Rooney" style are acceptable;
j) Engine capacity maximum 1000cc;
k) Throttle controls must be self closing when released and linkage type to be protected by a shield to prevent jamming as per rule 9.3.1.4 a), b);
l) Lanyard type kill switch attached to riders right wrist with the lanyard no longer than 600mm extended as per rule 9.3.1.5 a, b, c, I), II), III);
m) Sidecars wheel to have a disc on both the inside and outside of the wheel unless the outside of the wheel is covered by a non rotating disc or shield attached to the sidecar;
n) Sidecars to have a continuous rail on the right hand side of the machine to protect rider and passengers feet. (No Foot Pegs) (This is recommended BUT not mandatory).
